I've been proofreading of a sort since before I could spell my own name or pick up a pen, as family lore has it. At 3, I told my grandpa that the middle syllable of 'grocery' should be pronounced with an 's' sound, and not the 'sh' he was using.

I was first paid to be persnickety at my college's newspaper. First-time writers' articles bled with my favorite pen's green ink (it's less jarring than red, don't you think?), and I was tasked with tutoring all new hires on the basics of AP Style. 

My pen remains precise whether it's fixing errors or lettering a beautiful quote. I began creating pen-and-ink illustrations in high school and have since developed illustrated learning exercises for students, sold painted ceramics on Etsy, and been commissioned to create calligraphic art for silent auctions and gifts. 

I've thrived as an employee for both a small, non-profit arts and literature quarterly magazine and the fifth largest bank in the country; for a family-owned construction equipment dealership and a private liberal arts college. 

I bring excellence to every workplace regardless of size, scope, or vision. I consistently find ways to inject creativity into traditional roles, whether I'm designing a better tracking database or designing the logo for the monthly newsletter. 

My work is most relaxing and enjoyable when I'm deep in the muck of a large project or document, picking it apart. I love taking pieces that are just so-so and making them spectacular, by polishing the rough edges.
